Which 10mm Auto load would have better penetration: a 150 grain bullet traveling 1,475 fps, or a 165 grain bullet traveling 1,425 fps?
As a general rule, velocity doesn't count for much in penetration. Construction and sectional density (and therefore weight) are the primary determinants.
