I'm going to switch auto insurance companies, can I get a refund?
I'm switching auto insurance companies due to poor services. I haven't paid anything in full, but I paid a down-payment of $200 on jan. 24th and my first payment on feb. 15th which was $127. I just added another car a couple of days ago with a down-payment of $150. So if I switched insurance companies would I be entitled to a refund atleast for the second car I added?
Likely not. You could actually end up owing money to the insurance company.
See, you didn't pay very far ahead, at all - and when you cancel your policy, most of the time, you get a short rate cancellation (depending on what state you live in) and can also be subject to a cancellation fee.
If you'd paid six months up front, then yes, you'd get money back. But I'd bet, you'll still be owing them money.
