Using 2 different set of component speakers in same car?

Does sound quality suffer if you use different brand/quality speakers in the same car? The setup would be 6.5 alpine type s 2-way's in the back and some better quality 6.5 2 way component's in the front.

No, you may need to use an L-pad or adjust the gains of the front or rear setup so they sound about the same volume. Your speakers will most likely have different sensitivities and therefore 1 set will be louder than the other.

I personally wouldn't suggest using components in the rear anyway, tweeter placement can be very difficult and will usually disrupt the sound stage. In 90% of sound quality setups, components are used in the front and speakers are eliminated in the back in order to preserve a sound stage that is focused in-front of you rather than somewhere in the middle of your car. If you want some rear-fill than if anything use some mids with a bandpass filter that rejects sub-woofer frequencies and tweeter frequencies. I would even suggest using coaxials in the rear before I would put a components in the rear because of how difficult getting the speaker placement will be.
