How do you correctly measure the size of a flat screen TV?
If a flat screen LCD TV is advertised as a 46" tv, how do they come up with that measurement? Is that measuring the viewing area only or the entire tv, including the sides around the viewing screen? Do you measure horizontally or diagonally?
Measured diagonally across the viewing area. Due to the methodology used to measure screens, the advertised diagonal size could be up to one inch greater than the actual viewing area.
