Will powerline communications affect the performance of a scheduled (every 5 minutes) ftp upload?
I'm trying to setup a power monitoring station that uploads performance data via FTP every 5 minutes. The monitoring station is connected to the internet via an ethernet over powerline adapter. The adapter uses the Homeplug standard.
I don't fully understand what you're measuring or how the powerline adapters work but I wouldn't think so.
I'd say just try and measure on a different circuit (or at least a different outlet in the same circuit) than the powerline adapter - I know my powerline eithernet adapters seem to be affected by "wall wart" transformers too close to them and I suspect they would have a similar effect on any monitoring equipment physically too close to the "wall wart" Powerline/Eithernet adapter.
