What type of antenna should I use with my DTV digital to analog converter box?
I live on the ground floor of an apartment building. What type of antenna should I use to get good reception for a DTV Digital to Analog Converter (set top box)? Right now I am using a set of rabbit ears going threw a signal strength amplifier that is plugged into the wall socket for power & I currently only receive 1 channel from the converter box. I also have a VCR & a DVD player hooked up. Please help.
I can only use an indoor antenna.
This answer is completely dependent on your location. I’m assuming you live in a city and located approximately 25 miles or less from a broadcast tower.
I’d suggest buying a powered antenna like the Terk HDTVa Indoor Amplified High-Definition Antenna for Off-Air HDTV Reception. It’s approx. $40. We’ve had a few posts in our forum from users in your same situation, and after switching to a powered antenna, they receive most if not all channels.
Me? I use the Antennas Direct DB2, but it’s a bit larger than the Terk, which makes it tougher to hide. I receive all dtv stations here in AZ with it, so it’s not a bad choice either.
